Children, obey your parents as ⌊you would⌋ the Lord, because this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, so that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life in the land. Fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children, but bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1-4 (HCSB)
There is no telling how many times the beginning of this verse was quoted at my house as a child! For the longest I thought it was the only verse in the Bible! As children we want to do everything possible to please our parents and as parents we want to do everything possible to guide our children. I not sure but I believe that might be a great example of our relationship with our heavenly Father! What do you think?
11/11 – Thank a Parent. We all have parents. When was the last time you said “Thank-you” to them for being there. For providing memories, comfort, and security.
